Vacuum Hose Assembly
DESCRIPTION
The vacuum hose assembly consists of:
- vacuum hoses
- check valves
- vacuum pressure sensor/check valve
OPERATION
The vacuum hose assembly connects the Electric Vacuum Pump (EVP) and engine/intake manifold to the brake booster. Each path incorporates a check valve. When the EVP is off, the check valve in the EVP hose path is closed and engine vacuum is supplied to the brake booster. When the EVP is commanded on, the vacuum create is greater than engine vacuum and the check valve in the engine hose path is closed. The booster check valve/pressure sensor is closed when vacuum in the brake booster is greater than the vacuum in the vacuum hose assembly.
