Axle Shaft

REMOVAL 

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the brake system components. Refer to ADAPTER, DISC BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    1 - Hub Nut
  3. Remove and DISCARD  the hub nut.
  4. Remove the wheel speed sensor. Refer to SENSOR, WHEEL SPEED, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Remove the hub bearing bolts from the steering knuckle and remove the hub and bearing.
  6. Remove the axle shaft through the steering knuckle.

INSTALLATION 

During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
