Theory Of Operation
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module receives signals from the Wheel Speed Sensors (WSS) of all four wheels. The wheel speed sensors convert the wheel speed into a signal, sent to ABS Module. Each wheel has a wheel speed sensor and a tone wheel. The front tone wheel is internal to the wheel bearing. The rear tone wheel is external and is part of the rear axle shaft. The tone wheel is used to trigger the measuring mechanism for each wheel. There is no adjustment between the wheel speed sensor and the tone wheel.
