Diagnostic Test
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the Radio DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- Turn the Radio on and set the volume to 25.
- Adjust the speakers to the front and center.
- With the scan tool, read the active Radio DTCs.
NOTE:A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- VERIFY OPERATION OF THE SCREEN NOTE:
Before performing the diagnostic test, make sure that any part of the radio bezel is not contacting the radio screen.
- With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Remove the radio bezel.
- With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
No
- Go to 3
- CHECK RADIO BEZEL
- Reinstall the radio bezel.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Replace the Radio bezel in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
