Diagnostic Test
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the Radio DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- Turn the Radio on and set the volume to 25.
- Adjust the speakers to the front and center.
- With the scan tool, read the active Radio DTCs.
NOTE:A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE BLUETOOTH CABLE AND CONNECTIONS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Inspect the Bluetooth cable connection at the rear of the Radio.
- Inspect the Bluetooth cable connection at Bluetooth/WiFi Antenna.
- Inspect the Bluetooth cable for damage or an open or shorted condition.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair or replace the Bluetooth antenna cable or connection as needed.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- TEST THE BLUETOOTH ANTENNA
- Connect the 9977-6-WiFi BT test antenna. (special tool #9977-6-WiFi-BT, Antenna, WiFi Blue Tooth)
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- Adjust the speakers to the front and center.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Replace the Radio in accordance with the service information. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Bluetooth Antenna in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
