Diagnostic Test
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the Radio DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- Turn the Radio on and set the volume to 25.
- With the scan tool, read the active Radio DTCs.
NOTE:A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE RADIO
- If the vehicle has been in the hot sunlight or extreme cold, move the vehicle indoors and open the doors to allow the inside temperature to stabilize.
- Start the engine and allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
- The Radio should operate between -23°C and 65°C (-10°F and 149°F).
- With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes - First and only occurrence
- Turn the Radio off and allow the unit to cool before retesting.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
Yes - Multiple Occurrences
- Replace the Radio in accordance to the service information. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test Complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
