Diagnostic Test
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- NOTE: The Radio must be on.
NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Amplifier DTCs.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
NOTE:Make sure the Radio is turned on.
NOTE:A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Amplifier DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE CABIN EQUALIZATION CURVE NUMBER
- With the scan tool in the BCM ECU Details Tab, Configuration button, record the Cabin Equalization Curve number.
- With the scan tool in the AMP ECU Details Tab, Configuration button, record the True value.NOTE:
The Cabin EQ Curve value found in the BCM should match the True value found in the AMP.
Do the Cabin EQ settings match one another?
Yes
- Replace the Amplifier in accordance to the service information. Refer to AMPLIFIER (AMP), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- VERIFY COMMUNICATION WITH BCM
- With the scan tool, read the active modules on the BUS.
Does the scan tool show the BCM active on the BUS?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Perform the No Response From ECU diagnostic procedure. Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM ECU .
- With the scan tool, read the active modules on the BUS.
- CHECK BCM FOR ACTIVE DTCs
- With the scan tool, erase BCM DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off. Wait approximately 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs and record on the repair order.
Are any active DTCs present?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to DTC INDEX (1 OF 2) and/or DTC INDEX (2 OF 2) .
No
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
