Theory Of Operation

The BCM controls the lock and unlock functions of the bidirectional Tailgate Lock Motor, integral to the Tailgate Latch, through the Tailgate Lock and Tailgate Unlock circuits.

Lock:  When the Body Control Module (BCM) receives a lock request, the BCM provides voltage to the Tailgate Lock circuit and ground to the Tailgate Unlock circuit, to actuate the Tailgate Lock Motor to the lock position.

Unlock:  When the Body Control Module (BCM) receives an unlock request, the BCM provides ground to the Tailgate Lock circuit and voltage to the Tailgate Unlock circuit, to actuate the Tailgate Lock Motor to the unlock position.
