Hands Free Phone: Radio

The radio becomes operational when it receives a wake up signal over the CAN-C data bus indicating the status of the ignition switch is ON or Accessory. The radio uses a mast antenna mounted on the right fender for AM/FM signal reception and, depending upon vehicle optional equipment, a windshield mounted Digital Audio Broadcast antenna for reception of digital audio broadcast radio signals in markets that use the digital audio broadcast format, a roof mounted GPS/SDARS antenna for reception of GPS and SDARS signals, and two LTE antennas for reception and transmission of cellular telephone signals and data.

Depending upon the audio system options, the radio can play audio from many different media sources. The media can be played by connecting the source to the audio system via a 3.5 millimeter auxiliary (AUX) port, a USB port or through wireless Bluetooth® audio streaming.
