Diagnostic Test
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE INTERNAL CONDITION
NOTE:
Make sure the correct components are installed on the vehicle first, before continuing with this diagnostic procedure.
- The ABS Module is reporting internal errors.
- Verify that the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module or the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) were not replaced individually from another vehicle.NOTE:
Before continuing, check the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module harness connector terminals for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Repair as necessary.
- Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wire harness and connectors. Pay particular attention to all Power and Ground circuits.
- Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
