Ajar Switches
AJAR SWITCHES

The ajar switches are actuated by the latch mechanism and the latch striker. When the door, liftgate and hood are closed and properly latched, the ajar switches are open circuits. When the entry point is open or only partially latched, the ajar switch is a closed circuit. The ajar switches are hard wired in series between ground and a signal circuit of the BCM.
The ajar switches as well as the hard wired inputs and outputs of the switches may be diagnosed using conventional diagnostic tools and procedures. Refer to the appropriate wiring information.
