Cover, Steering Column Opening: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Using a trim stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, remove the driver side end cap (1).

  3. Remove the fasteners (1) and push-pin fasteners (2).

  4. Using a trim stick or equivalent, separate the retaining clips and remove the cover.
  5. Disconnect all necessary wire harness connectors.
