Engine And DDCT Separation

REMOVAL

  1. Connect a hydraulic crane and 1871001700 load-leveling lifting sling (1) to the lifting brackets on the engine.

  2. Remove the nuts (1a) and move the control unit for the catalytic converter overtemperature warning system (1b) out of the way.

  3. Remove the nut (1a) and bolts (1b), and reposition the wiring harness mounting bracket (1c).

  4. Remove the upper starter motor bolt (1).

  5. Open the protective cover (1a) for the starter electrical connections.
  6. Disconnect the starter motor wire harness connector (2).
  7. Remove the nut (3) and disconnect the battery positive cable from the starter motor (1b).

  8. Remove the lower starter motor bolt (1a) and remove the starter motor (1b).

  9. Remove the nut (1a) and bolts (1b), (1c) fastening the transmission (1d) to the engine on the compressor side.

  10. Remove the bolts (1a), (1b) and the nut (1c) fastening the transmission (1d) to the engine on the starter motor side.

  11. Remove the transmission (1) from the engine.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Engage the side studs and install the transmission to the engine.
  2. Install the bolts and nut fastening the transmission to the engine on the compressor side and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install the bolts and nut fastening the transmission to the engine on the starter motor side and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install the starter motor with the lower bolt tightened to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the battery positive cable to the starter and tighten the nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Close the protective cover for the starter electrical connections.
  7. Install the upper starter motor bolt and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  8. Fit the control unit for the catalytic converter overtemperature warning system in position and tighten the fixing nuts.
  9. Install the wire harness mounting bracket and securely tighten the nut and bolts.
