Engine (DDCT) On Maintenance Stand

REMOVAL

  1. Lift the clip and disconnect the quick coupling (1) on the intake manifold side of the multi-way coolant pump inlet pipe.
  2. Loosen the band clamp (2) and disconnect the multi-way coolant pump inlet pipe from the coolant pump.
  3. Lift the clip and disconnect the quick coupling (3) on the intake manifold side of the multi-way radiator coolant inlet pipe.
  4. Open the intermediate retaining clips (4a) and remove the multi-way coolant pump inlet pipe (4b) and the multi-way radiator coolant inlet pipe (4c).

  5. Loosen the band clamp (1a) and remove the heater core coolant hose (1b).
  6. Loosen the band clamp (2a) and remove the heater core coolant hose (2b).

  7. Loosen the band clamp (1a) and remove the radiator coolant supply hose (1b).

    NOTE:

    The bolts securing the flywheel are pre-treated with sealant, therefore they should be replaced each time they are removed.

  8. With the 1860846000 flywheel lock (1a) fitted, remove the bolts (1b) and remove the flywheel (1c).

  9. Install the 1871000000 engine mounting bracket (1) on the engine block.

  10. With the aid of a hydraulic lift, install the engine block and mounting bracket to the maintenance stand (1).

INSTALLATION 

  1. With the aid of a hydraulic lift, remove the engine from the maintenance stand.
  2. Place the engine on a suitable platform.
  3. Install the flywheel and clutch disc. Refer to .
  4. Install the radiator coolant supply hose and tighten the band clamp.
  5. Install the coolant supply hose to the heater core and tighten the band clamp.
  6. Install the coolant return hose to the heater core and tighten the band clamp.
  7. Connect the quick coupling on the intake manifold side of the multi-way coolant pump inlet pipe.
  8. Install the multi-way radiator coolant inlet pipe and multi-way coolant pump inlet pipe and connect the quick couplings.
  9. Install the coolant pump inlet pipe and tighten the band clamp.
  10. Close the intermediate retaining clips.
