Checking Engine Oil Pressure

  1. Remove the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor (2). Refer to SENSOR, OIL PRESSURE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .

  2. Install the (Special Tool No. 10282, Adapter, Engine Oil Pressure) (1) and the oil pressure gauge (Special Tool No. C-3292A, Gauge, Pressure) (2).
  3. Start the engine and record the reading on the oil pressure gauge (2).
    NOTE:

    If the oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off the engine.

  4. After the check is complete, remove the oil pressure gauge and the adapter.
  5. Install the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor. Refer to SENSOR, OIL PRESSURE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
