Description And Operation
The cylinder head is made of aluminum. It was designed to allow the Multiair module to be fastened and to house a single camshaft.
Along the bottom (deck) of the cylinder head there are four combustion chambers. Inside them is where the air-fuel mixture burns, releasing thermal energy needed to increase the pressure from which the engine performance is obtained in terms of torque and power.
