Output Shaft Seal

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove the transfer case. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - MPT3015C or REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - MPT3028C .

    1 - Output Shaft Seal
  2. Remove and DISCARD  the output shaft seal with a suitable screw and slide hammer.

2 - Output Shaft Seal
  1. Position the NEW  output shaft seal over the output shaft and against the transmission case.
  2. Using the (special tool #8481, Installer, Gear) install the NEW  output shaft seal.
  3. Install the transfer case. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - MPT3015C or REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - MPT3028C .
  4. Check the transmission fluid level and add as necessary. Refer to CHECK TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL  .
