Manual Park Release Lever

REMOVAL

1. Remove the fasteners and remove the front under hood closeout panel.

2. Remove the fasteners and remove the left under hood closeout panel.

   1 - Hood Latch Harness Connector

   2 - Hood Latch Cable

   3 - Hood Latch Bolts

   4 - Hood Latch

3. Disconnect the hood latch cable from the hood latch.
4. Remove all the hood latch cable stays from the body.

   1 - MPR Cable (Transmission side)

   2 - MPR Cable (Lever side)

5. Disconnect the Manual Park Release (MPR) lever cable from the MPR cable.
6. Remove the left cowl trim. Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

7. Remove the MPR Lever Nuts retaining the MPR lever.
8. Remove all the MPR lever cable stays from the body.

   1 - Hood Release Handle

   2 - Flat Bladed Tool

   3 - Clip

9. Using a small flat bladed tool, release the clip attaching the hood release handle to the instrument panel.

   1 - Grommet

10. Remove the grommet from the bulkhead and pull the cables into the vehicle.
11. Remove the assembly from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Tighten the MPR Lever Bolts securely.
• Route the cables into the bulkhead and install the grommet into the bulkhead. Verify that the grommet is fully seated to prevent leakage.

• Position the handle and align the clips to the instrument panel as shown.
