Standard Procedure - Fluid Drain And Refill

  1. Raise and support the vehicle

    Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  2. Position a drain pan under the transfer case.

    1 - Fill Plug
    2 - Drain Plug
  3. Remove the transfer case fill plug.
  4. Remove the transfer case drain plug and drain the transfer case fluid.
  5. Install the transfer case drain plug and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Remove the drain pan.
  7. Fill the transfer case to the bottom edge of the transfer case fill plug opening with the specified fluid. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Install the transfer case fill plug and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  9. Wipe any excess fluid that may have spilled onto the exhaust.
  10. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
