Standard Procedure - Fluid Drain And Refill

DRAINING: 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Position a drain pan under the transfer case.

   1 - Fill Plug

   2 - Drain Plug

3. Remove the transfer case fill plug.
4. Remove the transfer case drain plug and drain the transfer case fluid.

FILLING: 

1. Install the transfer case drain plug and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
2. Fill the transfer case to the bottom edge of the transfer case fill plug opening with the specified fluid. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
3. Install the transfer case fill plug and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
4. Wipe any excess fluid that may have spilled onto the exhaust.
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
