Crankshaft Main Bearing Selection
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
| 1 - Left Letter |
| 2 - Right Letter |
The main bearings are "select fit" to achieve proper oil clearances. For main bearing selection, the crankshaft counterweight has grade identification marks stamped into it. These marks are read from left to right. The left letter refers to the number one main journal and the right letter refers to the number 5 journal.
NOTE:
Service main bearings are coded. These codes identify the size or grade of the bearing.
