Standard Procedure: Draining

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
WARNING:

Do not remove or loosen the coolant pressure cap, cylinder block drain plugs, or the draincock when the system is hot and under pressure because serious burns from the coolant can occur.

NOTE:

The radiator drain is different location depending on the model package.

1 - Radiator Drain Access Cover
  1. If equipped, remove the radiator drain access cover.

    1 - Radiator Drain Valve
    NOTE:

    The drain valve is located on the front of the radiator, lower left side.

    NOTE:

    Make sure the system is not pressurized

  2. Position a drain pan and open the drain valve and drain the cooling system.
  3. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NOTE:

    The drain valve k is located on the front of the radiator, lower left side.

    NOTE:

    Make sure the system is not pressurized

  4. Position a drain pan and open the drain valve and drain the cooling system.
  5. If equipped and necessary, remove the cylinder block drain plug(s).
