PCV Valve

REMOVAL
The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve is mounted in the right rear side of the intake manifold.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to
COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L
.
1 - PCV Valve - Disconnect the PCV hose from the PCV valve.
1 - PCV Valve 2 - PCV Valve O-rings 3 - Locating Tabs - Rotate PCV valve counterclockwise 90 degrees then pull up and remove the PCV valve from intake manifold.
- Check the condition of the two PCV valve O-rings, replace if necessary.
INSTALLATION
- Clean the PCV valve mounting surface of the intake manifold opening.
- Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil.
- Position the PCV valve into intake manifold and rotate 90 degrees clockwise until the locating tabs are locked in place.
- Connect the PCV hose to the PCV valve.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L .
