PCV Valve

REMOVAL 

The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve is mounted in the right rear side of the intake manifold.

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L .

  2. Disconnect the PCV hose from the PCV valve.

  3. Rotate PCV valve counterclockwise 90 degrees then pull up and remove the PCV valve from intake manifold.
  4. Check the condition of the two PCV valve O-rings, replace if necessary.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Clean the PCV valve mounting surface of the intake manifold opening.
  2. Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil.
  3. Position the PCV valve into intake manifold and rotate 90 degrees clockwise until the locating tabs are locked in place.
  4. Connect the PCV hose to the PCV valve.
  5. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L .
