Ignition Coil: Removal

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, 5.7L .
  2. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the ignition coil.
  3. Clean the area at base of the coil with compressed air before removal.
  4. Remove the mounting fasteners (note that the mounting fasteners are retained to the coil).

  5. Carefully pull up the coil from the valve cover.
  6. Remove the coil from vehicle.
