Left Catalytic Converter

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove the front belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Saturate the bolts and with Mopar® Rust Inhibitor. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
  3. Remove the exhaust muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Disconnect the oxygen sensor wire harness connectors.

  5. Remove the catalytic convertor to exhaust manifold bolts and the catalytic convertor.
  6. If necessary, remove the oxygen sensors.

INSTALLATION 

  1. If removed, install the oxygen sensors and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the catalytic converter and tighten the catalytic convertor to exhaust manifold bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Connect the oxygen sensor wire harness connectors.
  4. Install the exhaust muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Install the front belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
  7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  8. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
