The switch bank pod and the ICS switches are allow customers to upfit the vehicle with aftermarket products and solutions.
The switches receives a configuration input from the BCM to determine how many programmable switches are on the vehicle. Up to six switch slots are available.
The following settings are available to the customer for programming:
- Switch Type - for each switch; latching or momentary press.
- Power Mode - for each switch; battery or ignition.
- Holding Last Known State - the switches that have the setting "Power Mode" as "Battery" or "Switch Type" as "Momentary" disable this state setting. This setting is stored in the BCM for the next power cycle. The BCM takes this configuration and uses the Local Interface Network (LIN) bus to communicate to the ICS which switch states are requested.
The ICS detects when a switch has been pressed and changes the LED indication accordingly to ON or OFF. When the switch is pressed, the ICS transmits a LIN based signal to the BCM to indicate which state the switch is now in.
The ICS receives its ignition ON feed over the LIN bus from the BCM, thus activating the ICS functionality.
