Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITIONS TEST. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR DTCs
- With the scan tool, check for BCM DTCs.
Are any BCM DTCs present?
Yes
- Diagnose the BCM DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information. Refer to DTC TROUBLESHOOTING .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, check for BCM DTCs.
- CHECK THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM MODULE (ABS) FOR DTCs
- With the scan tool, check for ABS DTCs.
Were any ABS DTCs present?
Yes
- Diagnose the ABS DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information. Refer to DTC TROUBLESHOOTING .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- With the scan tool, check for ABS DTCs.
- CHECK THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) FOR DTCs
- With the scan tool, check for PCM DTCs.
Were any PCM DTCs present?
Yes
- Diagnose the PCM DTCs in accordance with the diagnostic information. Refer to appropriate DTC information .
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test Complete.
- With the scan tool, check for PCM DTCs.
