Glass, Sunroof, Rear: Adjustments

1 - Front Glass Panel
2 - Rear Glass Panel
GLASS ADJUSTMENT SEQUENCE -
1 - Set the front glass panel to 3 mm (0.12 in.).
2 - Set the front of the front glass panel flush to under flush 2.5 mm (0.10 in.).
3 - Set the rear of the front glass panel flush with the roof.
4 - Set the front of the rear glass panel gap to 3.5 mm to 4 mm (0.14 in. to 0.16 in).
5 - Set the rear of the rear glass panel over flush 0 mm to 2.5 mm (0.0 in. to 0.10 in).
6 - Set the front of the rear glass panel flush to under flush 2.5 mm (0.10 in.).
  1. Initialize the sunroof motor. Refer to SUNROOF, DUAL PANE, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Open the sunshade fully.
  3. Verify the sunroof glass panel is in the fully closed position.
  4. Separate the mechanism covers from the tabs on the glass panel.
  5. Loosen the attaching fasteners on each side of the rear glass panel enough to permit adjustment of the glass gap and flush.
  6. Loosen the attaching fasteners on each side of the front glass panel enough to permit adjustment of the glass gap and flush.
    NOTE:

    Use shims to maintain gap during the flush adjustments.

  7. Adjust the front edge of the front glass gap to 3 mm (0.12 in.).
  8. Adjust the front surface of the front sunroof glass panel 0.00 mm to 2.5 mm (0.00 in. to 0.10 in.) below the top surface of the roof.
  9. Tighten the front fasteners of the front glass panel to 4.5 N.m (40 in. lbs.).
  10. Adjust the rear surface of the front sunroof glass panel flush with the top surface of the roof.
  11. Tighten the remaining front glass panel attaching fasteners to 4.5 N.m (40 in. lbs.).
    NOTE:

    Use shims to maintain gap during the flush adjustments.

  12. Adjust the front edge of the rear glass gap 3.5 mm (0.12 in.) minimum to 4.0 mm (0.16 in.) maximum.
  13. Adjust the rear surface of the rear sunroof glass panel 0.00 mm to 2.5 mm (0.00 in. to 0.10 in.) above the top surface of the roof.
  14. Tighten the rear fasteners of the rear glass panel to 4.5 N.m (40 in. lbs.).
  15. Adjust the front surface of the rear sunroof glass panel 0.00 mm to 2.5 mm (0.00 in. to 0.10 in.) below the top surface of the front glass panel.
  16. Tighten the remaining rear glass panel attaching fasteners to 4.5 N.m (40 in. lbs.).
  17. Check for proper fit. If not OK, repeat glass panel adjustment.
  18. Position the mechanism covers over the glass tabs between the locating features and seat fully.
  19. Verify sunroof operation and alignment.
