Center, Electronic Vehicle Information: Description
The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) features a driver-interactive display. The display is located in the middle of the instrument cluster between the speedometer and tachometer. This system conveniently allows the driver to select a variety of useful information by pressing the switches mounted on the steering wheel. The EVIC displays information related to the following:
- Audio mode display
- Compass display
- Fuel saver indicator, Economizer (ECO) display
- Navigation system screens - if equipped
- Outside temperature display
- Park Assist System - if equipped
- Personal Settings (customer programmable features)
- System Status
- Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) System - if equipped
- Trip computer functions
- Uconnect® hands-free communication system displays - if equipped
- Vehicle information warning message displays
The EVIC system is comprised of several different components. Those components are:
- Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
- EVIC Steering Wheel Switches
- Ambient Temperature Sensor
- Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus
- Local Interface Network (LIN) data bus
The EVIC display is part of the IPC assembly and is not serviced as a separate component. If the display is inoperative the complete IPC assembly must be replaced. Refer to REMOVAL .
