Gauge Pack, Instrument Cluster: Description: Speedometer
Standard equipment on all instrument clusters, the speedometer is located to the right of center in the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). The speedometer consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the instrument cluster circuitry and a fixed 200 degree primary scale on the gauge dial face. For all domestic market vehicles, the speedometer uses a dual scale and reads left-to-right from 0 to 140 MPH, and from 0 to 220 km/h (1). Other markets use a metric speedometer that reads left-to-right from 0 to 240 km/h (2).
On all NAFTA vehicles, text appearing on the cluster overlay at the end of the speedometer scale abbreviates the unit of measure for the either scale (MPH or km/h ), and color of the numerals on the scale corresponds to the color of the text for the unit of measure for that scale. For other markets, the scale text km/h appears above the zero numeral.
