Lamp, Tail: Removal: Outer

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Locate and remove the fasteners (1) that secure the outer rear tail lamp housing.

  4. Pull the outboard side of the lamp (1) rearward far enough to disengage the two ball studs on the back of the lamp housing from the plastic grommets in the lamp opening of the body sheet metal.
  5. Pull the lamp away from the vehicle far enough to access and disconnect the body wire harness connector (2).
  6. Remove the lamp from the vehicle.
