Lamp, Backup: Removal

The backup lamp is a component of the outer tail lamp. If the tail lamp needs to be replaced. Refer to LAMP, TAIL, REMOVAL . The following procedure is for the backup lamp bulb removal.

  1. Remove the outer rear lamp unit from the end of the quarter panel. Refer to LAMP, TAIL, REMOVAL .

  2. Firmly grasp the backup lamp bulb socket (3) on the back of the rear lamp unit housing and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.
  3. Pull the socket (3) and bulb straight out from the keyed opening (1) in the housing.
  4. Pull the base of the bulb (2) straight out of the socket.
