Deflector, Wind: Removal
NOTE:
If wind deflector will be re-installed, be careful not to damage the retaining strip nor the mesh during removal.
- Move the front glass to the full open position.
- By hand, pull the retaining strip (2) along the bottom of the mesh (1) to release it. A small flat blade tool can be used to help pry the strip from the retaining clips.
- From the top, drill out the rivet head (5) on the wind deflector pivot bracket (3) attachment to track and remove the rivet (one per side). A barrier should be slid in between the sunroof frame and headliner to prevent the rivet from falling in the headliner.
- Remove the deflector from the sunroof. If installing a new deflector to the existing sunroof frame be sure to clean out all metal chips from drilling out rivets.
