As69RC Transmission Verification Test

Perform the following procedure to verify proper Transmission operation after repairs have been performed.

1. Reinstall any removed components.
2. Reconnect any disconnected electrical connectors.
3. With the scan tool, erase TCM DTCs.
4. With the scan tool, erase ESM DTCs.
5. With the scan tool, erase ABS DTCs.
6. With the scan tool, erase PCM DTCs.
   CAUTION:

   Apply the parking brake.

7. With the scan tool, display the Transmission Temperature.
8. Start the engine and allow the transmission fluid temperature to reach 43° C (110° F).
9. Check for Transmission fluid leaks.
10. If internal transmission components were repaired or replaced check the Transmission fluid level and adjust if necessary. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
11. If any internal transmission repairs were performed, or the Transmission Control Module (TCM) or has been replaced or flashed, perform the TCM Quick Learn Procedure with the scan tool.
12. Perform the ROAD TEST PROCEDURE

    ROAD TEST PROCEDURE 

    1. Operate the vehicle in a manner that will allow 15-20 upshifts through all of the gears.
    2. Allow these shifts to occur from 0 kPh (0 mph) to 72 kPh (45 mph) with a constant throttle opening of 20 to 25 degrees.
    3. Operate the vehicle below 40 kPh (25 mph) and then perform a throttle kick-down maneuver to 1st gear. Do this several times from below 40 kPh (25 mph).
    4. With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.

    Did any TCM DTCs set?

    Yes 

    • Repair TCM DTCs. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .

    No 

    • Test complete.
