Removal And Installation

REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE
.
- Position drain pan beneath transmission pan, and remove the 15 fasteners (1) from the transmission pan and remove the pan.
- Remove the gasket (1) from the transmission and DISCARD
.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the solenoid (2).
- Remove the three solenoid bracket fasteners (1) and remove bracket (2).NOTE:
The reverse accumulator bracket holds light spring pressure.
- Support the reverse accumulator bracket (2), and loosen the retaining fastener (1).
- Remove the reverse accumulator spring (1) and piston (2). Note the orientation.
- Remove the TCC solenoid (1) from the lower valve body.
INSTALLATION
NOTE:
Each TCC solenoid is tuned, the data is contained within the barcode etched on the side of the solenoid.
- Using a QR code scanner or similar smartphone application, scan the unique barcode (1) on the solenoid. Record the output.
- Install the solenoid (1) into the lower valve body.
- Install the spring (1) and reverse accumulator piston (2) into the lower valve body.
- Install the fastener (2), retaining the reverse accumulator bracket (1). Tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Place the solenoid bracket and install the three fasteners (1). Tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the wire harness connector (1) to the solenoid (2).
- Install a NEW
gasket (1) on the transmission.
- Place transmission pan and install the 15 fasteners (1) tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Fill transmission with fluid. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Perform transmission programing procedure. Input saved data from the solenoid QR code.NOTE:
Data input must be exact. Any deviation from the exact character string may result in poor transmission performance.
