Diagnostic Test

CHECK THE ANTENNA CONNECTION
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the FM2 Diversity Antenna connector at the back of the Radio.
3. Inspect the FM2 Diversity Antenna connections.
  Are the Antenna connections clean and secure?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Repair the Antenna connection as needed.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
ANTENNA INSPECTION
1. Using Service Information locate and verify the antenna is on the vehicle.
2. Visually inspect the Antenna for damage.
  Is the antenna missing or damaged?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the FM2 Diversity Antenna in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 3
CHECK THE ANTENNA CONNECTIONS
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the FM2 Diversity Antenna connector at the Antenna.
3. Disconnect the FM2 Diversity Antenna connector at the rear of the Radio.
4. Inspect both of the FM2 Diversity Antenna connections and verify the Antenna is torqued to specification.
  Were the antenna connections clean and torqued to specification?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 4
  No
  - Clean the FM2 Diversity Antenna connection(s) / torque to specification as necessary.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
CHECK THE ANTENNA AND CABLE
NOTE:
Antenna reception testing must be done outside and away from man made structures or natural features to ensure all signals are not obstructed.
1. Connect the (special tool #9977-6-FM, Antenna) to the antenna connection on the back of the Radio.
2. Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
3. Using the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Turn the Radio on.
6. Using the scan tool, read the active Radio DTCs.
  Is the DTC active?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 5
TEST THE ANTENNA CABLE
NOTE:
Antenna reception testing must be done outside and away from man made structures or natural features to ensure all signals are not obstructed.
1. Disconnect the Antenna cable at the base.
2. Connect the appropriate (special tool #9977-6-1, Adapter) or (special tool #9977-6-3, Adapter) to the Antenna cable at the back of the Radio.
3. Connect the appropriate (special tool #9977-6-4, Jumper) or (special tool #9977-6-2, Jumper) to the Antenna cable at the Antenna base.
4. Measure the Resistance across the tool terminals.
  Is the resistance above 52.5 Ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Use the (special tool #9977-6, Kit, Radio Antenna Diagnostic) to locate the short to battery in the circuit, repair or replace the Antenna cable as necessary.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Replace the Antenna base in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
