Glass, Sunroof, Front: Adjustments

NOTE:

If adjusting both glass panels, loosen all the glass adjustment screws and adjust the rear glass first.

NOTE:

After adjusting the glass panels it is necessary to follow the sunroof calibration procedures. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

FRONT GLASS ADJUSTMENT

  1. Open the sunshade fully.
  2. Remove the interior seal.
  3. Verify the sunroof front glass is in the fully closed position.
  4. Loosen the screws on each side of the front glass enough to permit adjustment of the glass gap and flush.
    NOTE:

    Before making adjustments, tape a line at 300 mm (11.8 inches) outboard from the center of vehicle. This is where flush measurements are taken.

  5. Adjust the rear edge of the front glass gap to be 1.2 mm (0.06 in.).
  6. Standing outside the vehicle (one side at a time with one hand supporting the front corner of the sunroof glass) lift the front glass corner until it is flush (+1.5 mm to -1.5 mm) to the seal. Use your free hand to snug up the screw with sufficient force (finger tight) that the weight of the glass is supported. Repeat this process on the other side of the vehicle.
  7. Move to the rear of the FRONT sunroof glass. Standing outside of the vehicle (one side at a time with one hand supporting the rear corner of the FRONT glass) lift the glass corner until it is flush to 2.0 mm over-flush to the rear glass. Use your free hand to snug up the glass screw with sufficient force (finger tight) that the weight of the glass corner is supported. Repeat this process on the other side of the vehicle.
  8. Once the proper sunroof glass position has been achieved, tighten the sunroof glass screws to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Check for proper fit. If not OK, repeat front glass adjustment.
  10. Follow the sunroof calibration procedures. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  11. Verify sunroof operation.

REAR GLASS ADJUSTMENT

  1. Open the sunshade fully.
  2. Remove the interior seal.
  3. Verify the sunroof front glass is in the fully closed position.
  4. Loosen the screws on each side of the rear glass enough to permit adjustment of the glass gap and flush.
    NOTE:

    Before making adjustments, tape a line at 300 mm (11.8 inches) outboard from the center of vehicle. This is where flush measurements are taken.

  5. Adjust the front edge of the rear glass gap to be 1.2 mm (0.06 in.).
  6. Standing outside the vehicle (one side at a time with one hand supporting the front corner of the sunroof glass) lift the front glass corner until it is flush to 1.5 mm under-flush to the seal. Use your free hand to snug up the screw with sufficient force (finger tight) that the weight of the glass is supported. Repeat this process on the other side of the vehicle.
  7. Move to the rear of the sunroof glass. Standing outside of the vehicle (one side at a time with one hand supporting the rear corner of the glass) lift the rear glass corner until the seal along the rear is flush (+1.5 mm to -1.5 mm) to the roof. Use your free hand to snug up the glass screw with sufficient force (finger tight) that the weight of the glass corner is supported. Repeat this process on the other side of the vehicle.
  8. Once the proper sunroof glass position has been achieved, tighten the sunroof glass screws to the proper

    Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  9. Check for proper fit. If not OK, repeat rear glass adjustment.
  10. Follow the sunroof calibration procedures. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  11. Verify sunroof operation.
