Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Radio DTCs.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the Radio DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- With the scan tool, read the Radio DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go to 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE USB/MEDIA PORT CABLE
- Disconnect the USB/Media port cable at the Radio.
- Disconnect the USB/Media port cable at the USB/Media port.
- From the 9977-6-11 Radio Antenna Diagnostic Kit (special tool #9977-6-11, Kit, USB Mini-B - 4 and 5 Wire) connect the appropriate length adapter cable between the Radio and USB Port.
- With the scan tool, erase the Radio DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- With the scan tool, read the Radio DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the USB hub / Media Port Cable for damage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE RADIO
- Replace the USB hub / Media Port in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MEDIA HUB, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- With the scan tool, erase the Radio DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- With the scan tool, read the Radio DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
