Diagnostic Test

CHECK RELATED HARNESS CONNECTIONS

NOTE:

Very low Transmission fluid level could set this DTC. Be certain the Transmission fluid level is correct before proceeding. If the fluid level is more than 2 quarts low, repair the source of the leak and fill to the proper fluid level. Then, cold soak the vehicle for 8 hours and try to duplicate the DTC.

Disconnect all TCM harness connectors.
Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
Were any problems found?

Yes
- Repair connections as necessary.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - 948TE 9HP48 .
No
- Repair internal Transmission in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - 948TE 9HP48 .
