Theory Of Operation

The purpose of the diagnostic is to monitor the rationality of the park pawl sensor. The sensor has four pins to determine the position of the park pawl as shown in the table below. Each of these circuits are wired directly to the Transmission Control Module (TCM). To determine if the sensor signal is rational, an undefined output encoding combination is monitored.
