Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Verify the Park Aid Sensor is connected before proceeding with this diagnostic procedure.NOTE:
A disconnected sensor will set this DTC.
- With the scan tool, read PAM DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read PAM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- Verify the Park Aid Sensor is connected before proceeding with this diagnostic procedure.
- LEFT REAR PARK AID SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO BATTERY
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Park Aid Module harness connector.
- Disconnect the Park Aid Sensor harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage between ground and the Left Rear Park Aid Sensor Signal circuit at the Park Assist harness connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the Left Rear Park Aid Sensor Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- LEFT REAR PARK AID SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE REAR PARK AID SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT
- Turn the ignition off.
- Check for continuity between the Left Rear Park Aid Sensor Signal circuit and the Rear Park Aid Sensor Supply circuit at the Park Aid Module harness connector.
Is there continuity between the Left Rear Park Aid Sensor Signal circuit and the Rear Park Aid Sensor Supply circuit?
Yes
- Repair the Left Rear Park Aid Sensor Signal circuit for a short to the Rear Park Aid Sensor Supply circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- LEFT REAR PARK AID SENSOR SIGNAL GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
- Reconnect the Park Aid Module harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the Left Rear Park Aid Sensor Ground circuit.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Replace the Park Aid Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, PARK ASSIST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- LEFT REAR PARK AID SENSOR SIGNAL GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN BETWEEN PARK AID MODULE AND SENSOR
- Disconnect the Park Aid Module harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the Left Rear Park Aid Sensor Ground circuit between the Park Aid Module harness connector and the Park Aid Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the Left Rear Park Aid Sensor Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Park Aid Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, PARK ASSIST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
