Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Verify the Park Aid Sensor is connected before proceeding with this diagnostic procedure.NOTE:
A disconnected sensor will set this DTC.
- With the scan tool, read PAM DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read PAM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- Verify the Park Aid Sensor is connected before proceeding with this diagnostic procedure.
- CHECK THE VOLTAGE OF THE FRONT PARK AID SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT
- CHECK THE FRONT PARK AID SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Park Aid Module harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the Front Park Aid Sensor Supply circuit between the Park Aid Module harness connector and the Park Aid Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Park Aid Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, PARK ASSIST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the Front Park Aid Sensor Supply circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE FRONT LEFT PARK AID SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND WITH THE PARK AID MODULE CONNECTED NOTE:
Perform this step with the Park Aid Module connected.
- CHECK THE FRONT LEFT PARK AID SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND WITH THE PARK AID MODULE DISCONNECTED
- Disconnect the Park Aid Module harness connector.
- Check for continuity between ground and the Front Outer Left Signal circuit at the Park Aid Module harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the Front Left Park Aid Signal circuit?
Yes
- Repair the Front Left Park Aid Signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 6
- CHECK THE FRONT LEFT PARK AID SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE FRONT LEFT PARK AID SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
- Check for continuity between the Front Left Park Aid Signal circuit and the Front Left Park Aid Ground circuit at the Park Aid Module harness connector.
Is there continuity between the Front Left Park Aid Signal circuit and the Front Left Park Aid Sensor Ground circuit?
Yes
- Repair the Front Left Park Aid Signal circuit and the Front Left Park Aid Sensor Ground circuit for a short together.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Park Aid Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, PARK ASSIST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check for continuity between the Front Left Park Aid Signal circuit and the Front Left Park Aid Ground circuit at the Park Aid Module harness connector.
- CHECK THE FRONT LEFT PARK AID SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect the Park Aid Module harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the Front Left Park Aid Signal circuit between the Park Aid Module harness connector and the Park Aid Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the Front Left Park Aid Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 8
- PARK AID SENSOR
- Turn the ignition on.
- Reconnect the Park Aid Module harness connector.
- Connect a jumper wire between the Front Park Aid Sensor Supply and Front Outer Left Signal circuit at the Park Aid Sensor harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read PAM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Park Aid Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, PARK ASSIST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Park Aid Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, PARK ASSIST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
