Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jeep Renegade. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

When the Headlamp Switch is turned to the Park Lamp or Headlamps ON position, the Headlamp Switch sends a signal, requesting the Interior Lamp illumination, through the Panel Lamps Driver circuit to Body Control Module (BCM). When the BCM receives a Panel Lamp, Ambient Lamp, Courtesy Lamp or Reading Lamp request, the BCM provides voltage on the Panel Lamps Driver circuit, Ambient Lighting Control circuit, Courtesy Lamps Driver circuit, or Reading Lamps Driver circuit in order to illuminate the respective lamp(s).
