Diagnostic Test

- CHECK THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) AND REAR POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER (PDC) ASSEMBLY CONNECTIONS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Inspect the BCM and Rear PDC Assembly harness connectors for any loose connections or damage.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Restore or repair the connection.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK THE (P103) DRIVER LUMBAR MOTOR DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect the Rear PDC Assembly C1 harness connector.
- Disconnect the BCM C6 harness connector.
- Check for continuity between ground and the (P103) Driver Lumbar Motor Driver circuit at Rear PDC Assembly C1 harness connector - terminal 22.
Is there continuity between ground and the (P103) Driver Lumbar Motor Driver circuit?
Yes
- Repair the short to ground in the (P103) Driver Lumbar Motor Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE DTC STATUS
- Connect the Rear PDC Assembly C1 harness connector.
- Connect the BCM C6 harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Is the DTC Active?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- The DTC is Stored. Activate the appropriate Seat Switch and attempt to move the seat. If the seat moves, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK FOR VOLTAGE ON THE (P103) DRIVER LUMBAR MOTOR DRIVER CIRCUIT
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Rear PDC Assembly C1 harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage on the (P103) Driver Lumbar Motor Driver circuit at the Rear PDC Assembly C1 harness connector - terminal 29.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Repair the short to ground in the (P103) Driver Lumbar Motor Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK RELATED HARNESS CONNECTIONS
- Disconnect all BCM harness connectors.
- Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
- Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
- Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
- Proper connector installation.
- Damaged connector locks.
- Corrosion.
- Other signs of water intrusion.
- Weather seal damage (if equipped).
- Bent terminals.
- Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
- Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
- Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
Repair any conditions that are found.
- Connect all BCM harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Connect all in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- Connect all related component harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- The DTC is Active. Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test complete.
