Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read Amplifier DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read Amplifier DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- LEFT FRONT TWEETER ELECTRICAL CONNECTION CHECK
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Left Front Tweeter and Amplifier harness connectors.
- Check for the presence of loose or damaged connections at the Left Front Tweeter and Amplifier harness connectors.
Were there signs of any of the connections being loose or damaged?
Yes
- Restore the correct connections.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE LEFT FRONT TWEETER SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Measure the resistance of the Left Front Tweeter Signal circuit between the Left Front Tweeter harness connector and the Amplifier harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the Left Front Tweeter Signal circuit for an open or high resistance?
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the Left Front Tweeter Signal circuit between the Left Front Tweeter harness connector and the Amplifier harness connector.
- CHECK THE LEFT FRONT TWEETER FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Check for continuity between ground and the Left Front Tweeter Signal circuit at the Left Front Tweeter harness connector.
Was a short to ground detected?
Yes
- Repair the Left Front Tweeter Signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5
- Check for continuity between ground and the Left Front Tweeter Signal circuit at the Left Front Tweeter harness connector.
- CHECK FOR A SHORT BETWEEN THE LEFT FRONT TWEETER CIRCUITS
- Check for continuity between circuits at the Left Front Tweeter harness connector.
Was there a presence of a short between circuits in the Left Front Tweeter wiring?
Yes
- Repair the short between circuits in the Left Front Tweeter wiring.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 6
- Check for continuity between circuits at the Left Front Tweeter harness connector.
- CHECK THE LEFT FRONT TWEETER FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage on the Left Front Tweeter Signal circuit at the Left Front Tweeter harness connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the Left Front Tweeter Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 7
- CHECK THE LEFT FRONT TWEETER OPERATION
- Check that the Left Front Tweeter is working correctly.
Is the Left Front Tweeter working correctly?
Yes
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Left Front Tweeter in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SPEAKER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check that the Left Front Tweeter is working correctly.
