Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Start the engine and test drive the vehicle.
      NOTE:

      The vehicle must be driven in order to get the Auxiliary Coolant Pump speed high enough for the diagnostic to run.

    2. With a scan tool, read DTCs.

      Is the DTC active or pending?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE CHARGE AIR COOLER COOLING SYSTEM FOR PROPER LEVEL AND OPERATION 
    1. Check for any of the following conditions, but not limited to:
      • Low coolant / No coolant
      • Blockage in the coolant flow
      • Excessive air mixed with the coolant
      • Charger Air Cooling system leaks
      • Incorrect Charge Air Cooling system reservoir cap
      NOTE:

      The Auxiliary Coolant Pump monitors the pump speed during operation. It has the ability to detect if the pump is blocked or if there is a dry run condition based on the pump speed. This is used to protect the pump from being damaged.

      Were any issues found?

      Yes 

      • Repair the cooling system issue. Fill and bleed the system properly and retest.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
