Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Start the engine and test drive the vehicle.NOTE:
The vehicle must be driven in order to get the Auxiliary Coolant Pump speed high enough for the diagnostic to run.
- With a scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- Start the engine and test drive the vehicle.
- CHECK THE CHARGE AIR COOLER COOLING SYSTEM FOR PROPER LEVEL AND OPERATION
- Check for any of the following conditions, but not limited to:
- Low coolant / No coolant
- Blockage in the coolant flow
- Excessive air mixed with the coolant
- Charger Air Cooling system leaks
- Incorrect Charge Air Cooling system reservoir cap
NOTE:The Auxiliary Coolant Pump monitors the pump speed during operation. It has the ability to detect if the pump is blocked or if there is a dry run condition based on the pump speed. This is used to protect the pump from being damaged.
Were any issues found?
Yes
- Repair the cooling system issue. Fill and bleed the system properly and retest.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Auxiliary Coolant Pump in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to PUMP, WATER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check for any of the following conditions, but not limited to:
