Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jeep Renegade. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Impact sensors perform internal self-tests and communicate the sensors status using power supplied by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). The sensor communicates this internal failure message using the sensor signal circuit. If the scan tool shows this DTC has a Stored history of setting then the left B pillar impact sensor is to be replaced.
