Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Using a small flat bladed tool, carefully release the top clips on each side of the upper mirror trim (1a). Rotate the top downward and remove.
  3. By hand, lift to release the clips (1b) and remove the middle mirror trim.
  4. By hand, pull downward to release the clips (2b) and remove the lower mirror trim (2a).
    NOTE:

    Be careful not to damage the bracket that is bonded to the windshield, if the bracket is broken the windshield will need to be replaced.

  5. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the Light Rain Sensor Module (LRSM) (3a).
  6. Remove the retaining clip (2a) by releasing the side hooks, inserting a screwdriver in the openings (2b).
  7. Remove the LRSM (3a) from the housing (3b) on the windshield.
