Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.NOTE:
Due to the nature of DTCs C2502-64 and C221B-64 setting criteria, these DTC's may set to Active erroneously in the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM) during a diagnostic session on the Renegade and 500x vehicles. If you encounter both C2502-64, C221B-64 set as active AND you had interrogated the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module in any way with a scan tool, make sure to perform the following actions before initiating repair procedures. This will set the DTC state to Stored and allow the scan tool to erase it (Active DTCs cannot be erased):
1) Disconnect scan tool from vehicle
2) Drive the vehicle at least 100ft @ 10 mph or more with all four wheels on the ground.
3) Connect scan tool and go DIRECTLY to "All DTCs" section without performing any other action. If C2502 and C221B are now stored, clear the faults and do not perform any repairs - the faults were set in error. If the two DTCs are still active, proceed with repair procedure.
- Record the Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCM DTCs.
