The Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) system warns the passengers of the front and rear seats if their seat belt is not fastened.
The system signals unfastened seat belts with visual warnings (warning lights on in the Instrument Panel Cluster/IPC) and icons on the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) display and an acoustic signal.
The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) will send the buckle condition messages to the IPC via the Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus for the activation of the indications.
